  • This section highlights how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the way we access, manage, and utilize information. With AI-powered tools and platforms, users can go beyond traditional keyword searches to experience intelligent discovery of knowledge through natural language queries, semantic analysis, and personalized recommendations. These intelligent information sources ensure faster, more accurate, and context-aware access to scholarly materials, research articles, and digital resources. By leveraging AI, libraries and academic institutions empower students, researchers, and professionals with enhanced accessibility, improved decision-making, and a more efficient academic journey.

  • PTAR Digital Resources refer to the comprehensive range of electronic information services. These resources include e-books, e-journals, online databases, exam papers, theses, and other scholarly materials that support teaching, learning, and research activities.

Access is available remotely or on campus through the PTAR website and the UiTM Library Portal, using an authorized UiTM ID and password. By leveraging these digital resources, students, academicians, and researchers are able to obtain credible, current, and authoritative information essential for academic excellence and scholarly work.

Evaluating information sources is the process of critically assessing the quality, reliability, and relevance of materials before using them in academic or professional work. It ensures that the information selected is accurate, credible, and suitable for the purpose of study or research.

Key aspects of evaluation include examining the authority of the author, the credibility of the publisher, the accuracy of the content, the objectivity or bias in presentation, the timeliness of the information, and its relevance to the research topic. By carefully evaluating sources, students and researchers uphold academic integrity, strengthen the quality of their arguments, and ensure that their work is supported by trustworthy evidence.

As students, researchers, or professionals, we often rely on information from many different sources — books, journals, websites, and now even AI tools such as ChatGPT or Perplexity. While these tools can be very powerful, it is our responsibility to use them ethically and acknowledge where our ideas and information come from.

Citations are not just about avoiding plagiarism. They are about showing respect for the intellectual work of others, strengthening the credibility of our own writing, and ensuring that we contribute to the academic community with honesty and professionalism.
